Born in Ithaca, New York, Victoria Block is a painter and ceramicist who lives and works in Ste-Lucie-Des-Laurentides, 100 kilometres north of Montreal, Quebec. She studied at York University in Toronto and obtained her BFA from Concordia in Montreal. Since then she has participated in more than 40 solo and group shows in galleries, museums and cultural centres. Her work is in public and private collections around the world - most notably in numerous Canadian Embassies, the House of Commons in Ottawa, Ontario and the McGill University collection of paintings at Thomson House. In recent years, she has been exhibiting large format painting and groupings of ceramics together to create environments that reflect the tactile and emotional aspects of nature.
